3 Big Things
At the United Methodist Church of Thousand Oaks, we focus on 3 big things:
Love - We believe ALL people are beloved children of God and we welcome all regardless of age, ethnicity, ability or sexual orientation. We practice open communion, where all are welcome at the table.
Grow - We promote and foster growth for children, youth and adults through learning about God, each other and how to serve the community. We'll help you find your spiritual gifts.
Serve - We believe that all are called to serve, ignited and guided by the Holy Spirit, using our giftedness.
Our vision is to Follow Jesus: Love, Grow & Serve!

Methodism
Our church is part of the United Methodist Church, founded by John Wesley and focused on helping move people incrementally towards perfection. The early church utilized regular (methodical) worship and small group meetings that gave rise to the term Methodism.
We believe in the triune God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit)
We believe in Salvation through the life, death and resurrection of Christ Jesus
We believe in Christs' Holy Church
We believe in Transforming and Perfecting Grace
We believe in Faith and Good Works
We believe in the Coming of God's Realm and Reign on Earth
However Methodists believe that none of these statements matter if they don't make a difference in your life. And as Methodists we use Wesley's four tools to discern God's will - Scripture, Tradition, Experience and Reason.
