Youth Ministry

"By this, they will know that you are my disciples if you love one another." John 13:35 (NIV)

We invite you to join us:  Welcome to the UMC Thousand Oaks Youth Ministry!  All young people in Grades 6-12 are invited to join in one or all of the may facets of our youth ministry.  We know this time of life can be a difficult one, and so our church provides loving and caring mentors who listen, teach, and care deeply about the lives of our youth.  We learn about our faith, we allow time for questions, and we practice our faith together!
Youth are Valued:  We value the gifts and passions that our teenagers bring to our Church community.  We empower them to use their gifts to help change our world for the Glory of God.  There are may ways our youth are involved in doing this within our Church.
Our Program's Scope:  On Sundays we encourage participation in worship and we offer Bible studies.  We offer United Methodist Youth on Thursday nights, whose programs include monthly mission projects, faith-based discussions around relevant issues, plus lots of FUN!  Many more opportunities for spiritual growth, service, and fun are offered outside of Sundays and Wednesdays.  These include Sierra Service Project, camps, retreats, beach days, and much, much more!  Come and visit us.  We promise to welcome all with open arms!

Safe Sanctuaries:  Here at UMCTO, we are committed to the physical, emotional and spiritual safety of children and youth.  We have implemented and follow a Safe Sanctuaries Policy to help us with this goal.  All volunteers working with children and youth are background checked and trained in the Safe Sanctuaries Policy.  If  you would like to view our policy,  click here.
