Family Fun

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.   Proverbs 17:22

“Families that pray together stay together” is a phrase that may sound trite, but in fact is quite true. Another phrase that is similar to it, and is also true is “families that play together stay together.”  When we play together, no matter what our age, we have a deeper sense of belonging and community.  Activities that bring all members of families together contribute to strong families.  That’s why we have activities that include a good dose of good, old-fashioned fun.

Family Camp

Family Camp is a joyous time for all families and people of all ages in our church to spend a weekend together for fun, fellowship, and spiritual growth.  We always include games that everyone can play.  There’s plenty of time to get to know other families better.  The weekend includes programs that contribute to spiritual growth and concludes with a special worship service.

Shrove Tuesday

Shrove Tuesday, the day when Christians confess (Shrive) and repent before beginning the Lenten season, brings families together to prepare for their Lenten spiritual journey. The event features games, a pancake dinner, and traditional pancake races.  The evening culminates with the crowning of the Prince, Princess, King and Queen.

Corn Toss Tournament and Picnic

Corn Toss is a simple game similar to horseshoes, played with 2-person teams, except you toss one-pound bean bags filled with corn kernels onto a large wooden board.  It's fun and easy to do.  The tournament and picnic has become an annual tradition - an event that all ages enjoy.

Other Family Fun Activities

Among many other family fun events are the Spring Festival and Trunk and Treat.
